Christopher S. Baker went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Nov. 19, 2016 as he passed away peacefully at the James Cancer Center in Columbus, with his family at his side. He was born April 13, 1967 in Akron, Ohio and was the son of Charlie Baker and step-mother, Rhonda Baker, of Green and Mother, Marlene Baker of West Lafayette. Chris suffered with four major cancers in the last five years and was a true fighter determined to beat it. Chris was a graduate of R. G. Drage and Northwest High School and was a welder by trade. Chris enjoyed online gaming especially Diablo II and Guild Wars 1 and 2 and loved watching football. He loved his kitten named Lucky who brought him so much joy and amusement. Chris is survived by his wife, Miranda. He would not have survived this long without her being his caregiver the entire time. He is also survived by his daughters, Samantha Grace-Dawn Baker, of the home; Taylor Marie Kundle-Gower, nee Baker of Warren; son Christopher Lee Baker of Akron; brother Gregory C. Baker of Coshocton; sister, Laurie K. Baker of Middleburg Heights, Ohio. He is also survived by many aunts and uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews. The family would like to say a special thanks to Dr. Teknos and his staff at the James Cancer Center for their kind and loving care over the last four years. Friends and family may call FRIDAY 3-5 p.m. at the Swigart-Easterling Funeral Home,624 Cherry St. East (Rte. 93) Canal Fulton with a service immediately following with Rev. Al Dangelo, officiating. Cremation will take place following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the FAMILY in care of the funeral home.
