Helen Patricia (Mitchell) Golay, of Bluffton, South Carolina, formerly of Luna Lake, Clinton, Ohio, aged 82, died in Savannah, Georgia, on Saturday, March 3, 2018. Pat was born on February 20, 1936 and lived most of her life in and around Akron, Ohio. She was a very talented artist who painted locally at Stiles Art Studio in Canal Fulton and was a member of Tri-County Art Society. She was a retired Field Representative of the U.S. Census Bureau, a certified genealogist and member of the Ohio Genealogy Association, First Families of Ohio in Ross County and First Pioneers of Ross County. Pat had a large family and many wonderful friends and spent her life loving and serving them. She was known for her love of people and helping those in need. Her great grand-children loved her welcoming smile, twinkling blue eyes, and the way she could make any baby laugh. Most of all, they loved her amazing "Tickle Kisses". Among her greatest passions were God’s creations: birds, flowers and the beach. We know she passed from this world into the loving arms of Jesus, her Lord and Savior. We are jealous of Heaven’s gain and so grieved by her absence. We rejoice that after a life given so generously away in mercies, kindness and love, she is finally pain-free and completely healed. Pat was preceded in death by her husband, Wade Golay. She was the daughter of Bruce M. Mitchell and Gertrude E. (Garvin) Mitchell. She is survived by daughters Anita Graber, Akron, Ohio; Sharon Busby (William), Mentor, Ohio; Julie Ott (Kingsley), Phoenix, Arizona; and Connie Kitzmiller (Glenn), Bluffton, South Carolina. She is also survived by brother Bruce Mitchell, sister Ginny Derhammer, as well as 11 Grandchildren: Kelly, Julie Beth, Talie, Bryan, Chris, Jen, Caitlin, Jonathan, Tara, Jordan, Jessica and 11 Great-grandchildren: Kayley, Cole, Carter, Tegan, Sawyer, Declyn, Lyla, Harper, Hensley, Audrey, Maddox , and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Service SATURDAY, 11:00 am at the Swigart-Easterling Funeral Home, 624 Cherry St. East (Rt. 93) Canal Fulton. Friends may call FRIDAY 6pm to 8pm and Saturday from 10:00am until time of the service. Burial in Canal Fulton Cemetery.
