Joan H. Dennewitz, 79, passed away Monday, July 3, 2017. Born on June 14, 1938 in Akron to the late Dominic and Martha (Kanecke) Vardon, she was a life resident of Akron, graduated from South High School and was employed by Hinney Printing Co. and Crawford Company Printing. Joan was a life member of the Eagles Auxiliary 555 where she held positions as Past President, Treasurer, Honorary Mother, Capt of the Ritual Team and member of the REAC Team.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Donald (Marilyn) Vardon, Gary Vardon and great niece, Christiana Moore. Joan is survived by her sister-in-law, Virginia Vardon; nieces, Valerie (Mike) Magazzeni, Kristine (Ron) Cottle; nephews, Don (Lillian) Vardon, Doug Vardon; great nieces and great nephew, Madelaine, Dominic and Alexandria.

The family would like to thank the staff of Jackson Ridge and the staff of Bella Care Hospice for all their care and attention given to Joan.

Per her wishes no services will be held, cremation has taken place and her ashes will be spread across the Hawaiian Islands. Memorials in Joan's name can be made to your favorite animal shelter.
