Lydia M. Norman, 94 of Canal Fulton, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, January 20, 2018. Born on May 3, 1923 in Freedom Station, OH to the late Walter and Elizabeth (Yount) Thomas, she was a Rosie the Riveter during WWII for Corsair, a member of St. Jacob's Lutheran Church, Jackson Twp, for 65 years, the sexton for Mudbrook Cemetery for many years and a 4H advisor for 35 years. Lydia was a member of the Busy Needles Club, Coachman Caravan Camping Club, Canal Fulton Garden Club, Fulton/Beach City Grange, St. Jacob's Quilters and Jackson Twp. Women's Club.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Hugh Norman. Lydia is survived by her children; Joann, Walter, Edward, Rebecca and Amy; 8 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held SATURDAY, 2pm at St. Jacob's Lutheran Church, 8697 Mudbrook St NW, Jackson Twp., Pastor Lynn Williamson, officiating. A reception in the church hall will immediately follow the service. Friends may call from 1pm to 2pm prior to service time at the church. Inurnment at Mudbrook Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Mudbrook Cemetery in Lydia's name.
