George R. "Butch" Benner, 68 of Manchester, died Sunday, Jan. 22, 2012.  He was born in Wadsworth and was an Akron area resident all of his life.  George served in the US Navy , retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. and enjoyed studying the history of World War II.  He was preceded in death by his father, Roth Wayne Benner and brother, Thomas L. Benner.  He is survived by his mother, Cecilia Benner; brother, Larry Benner of Cuyahoga Falls; sisters, Linda (George) Buehler of  Starksville, Mississippi;  Gini (Tom) Racin of Canal Fulton and Kimberly (Lee) Sevier of Twinsburg; sister-in-law, Joan and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncle and other family.   Cremation has taken place.  There will be No calling hours.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the World War II Memorial in Washington, DC.
