Charles Harry Miller

October 10, 1940 ~ October 13, 2017 (age 77) 77 Years Old

Charles H. Miller, 77, of New Franklin, died peacefully in his home Friday, October 13th surrounded by his loving family.  Charles was born in Barberton, Ohio to Wilda (Hasson) and Elwood Miller October 10, 1940.  The family later moved to Manchester (New Franklin) where he would live the majority of his adult life.  Charlie was preceded in death by his Parents and elder brother, Donald Miller.  He is survived by his wife Kathryn (Brooks) Miller,  Sons: Doug (Debbie) Miller, Eric (Jeri) Miller, C.J. (Amber) Miller.  Daughters:  Polly (Eddie) Dias, Stephanie (Jim) Bowen, Sara (Ryan) Sandoval, Annie (Jeremiah) Garrett and Christine (Monty) Donohew.  Grandchildren – Lauren & Nicholas Miller, Randy, Rachel & Elise Miller, Harley, Scarlett, Keegan & Miles Miller,  Kendall (Step-granddaughter),  Jordan Dias, Bobby, Joey & Jimmy Bowen, A.J. & Ryan Sandoval, Wyatt & Peyton Garrett and Joshua, Leah & Jeremy Donohew. 

Charles was an alumni of Manchester High School and quarterback for Coach Swede Olson.  As one of the co-founders of the Manchester Youth Football Program, his love for the game and dedication to the organization was like no other.   His countless victories over the years were attributed not only to the respect of his fellow coaches, but also from his players.  Charlie’s quick wit and personality was one of a kind and he had a lasting impression on everyone that met him.  He will truly be missed by many. 

Charlie was a retired Mason and lifetime member of the Turkeyfoot Sportman’s Club. 

Calling Hours will be held at Swigart-Easterling Funeral Home, Canal Fulton on Tuesday, October 17th from 3-6 p.m.  A Celebration of Life dinner will immediately follow at the Turkeyfoot Sportsmans Club, Portage Lakes, beginning at 7 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made in his name to the “Kaderly Foundation” 4928 Encino Drive, New Franklin, OH  44319 – www.kaderly.org to support the Manchester Youth Football Program.
