Edith passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 17, 2018. She was born on July 28, 1919 in Akron, Ohio to the late Michael and Teresza Weaver. She was a loving and dedicated mother who enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Edith was a wonderful cook and very creative. She was a talented seamstress and has left behind handmade dolls and afghans that her family will cherish for generations to come. Edith loved playing card games, going on weekend trips to the casino and was an avid bingo player. She had many cats during her long life and especially loved her last, Lucky.
In addition to her parents, Edith was preceded in death by her loving husband of 56 years, Joseph, her brother Louis and sisters Helen and Julia.
She will be dearly missed by her daughter, Bonnie (George) Stefanko; son, Joseph; granddaughter, Jenelle O'Malley; grandson, Michael and great-grandchildren, Ethan, Natalie, Lucas and Aidan.
A special thanks to the staff at Laurels of Massillon and the staff from Crossroads Hospice.
A private funeral service will be held at Swigart-Easterling Funeral Home with burial at Holy Cross Cemetery, Akron. In lieu of flowers, donations in Edith's name are requested to the Stark County Humane Society or to your local animal shelter.
