Edwin "Chub" William Dreurey, Jr.

March 16, 1937 ~ May 19, 2017 (age 80) 80 Years Old

Edwin "Chub" Dreurey, 80, passed away May 19, 2017. He was born in Barberton, Ohio, in 1937, and was a lifetime resident of the Village of Clinton. He graduated from Northwest High School in 1955. A man with an incredible work ethic, he began working at Ringer's Locker in Wadsworth and continued his career at Recht's Brothers, from which he retired in 1978. Never one to remain idle, he and wife, Sandra, purchased Chub's Pub which soon became a well-known local favorite for the residents of Clinton and beyond. His infectious smile and magnetic personality were shared with all who knew him. After ten years, he once again retired and he and wife, Sandra, moved on to fulfill another dream of owning and operating Dreurey Lane Antiques. They enjoyed sharing their lifelong hobby of collecting antiques with others. Retiring for a third time, Ed applied his love of cars working first at MacIntyre Chevrolet then later VanDevere Chevrolet as a dealer trade driver. His hobbies included golfing, fishing and detailing and caring for his 1969 Chevrolet Camaro and his Chevrolet SSR. He especially enjoyed maintaining a meticulous yard and patio where he could be seen feeding birds and observing wildlife. Community activities and memberships included Retail Clerks Union, Clinton Kiwanis Club and Minstrel shows, Clinton Historical Society and Clinton Cemetery Association. He was an active and longtime member of Clinton Church of Christ and a founding member of Legacy Christian Church. Preceded in death by parents Edwin Sr. and Florence Dreurey and daughter, Lyn Dreurey, he is survived by his wife of fifty seven years, Sandra Walsh Dreurey and daughter, Lee Ann Dreurey as well as many family members and friends. Ed greatly influenced the lives of many people and will be sadly missed by all.
