Gary Donald. Lazarus, 74, of Canal Fulton died Thursday, January 11, 2018 surrounded by his "Favorite" wife of 40 years, Marlene; son, Shawn and wife Molly; his beloved grandchildren, Olivia, Abram, Ashlyn, Iris, Eden and Maizie; niece, Susan. Preceded in death by his parents; brother, Roland Lazarus; sisters, Doris McKenzie and Donna Dearth and is also survived by brother, Bill (Judy) Lazarus and sister, Joyce Shultz. Gary was born March 25, 1943 in Albion, Michigan to the late Milo and Clara (Wagner) Lazarus and had lived in Canal Fulton for the past 40 years. He worked 18 years for Republic Steel in Massillon where he was the weld shop foreman and also 18 years as a lifting specialist for Mazzella in Brookpark, Ohio. Gary was a member of the Canal Fulton United Methodist Church, the American Welding Society, Board of Directors, Massillon Credit Union; Eagles; Northwest Touchdown Club and the Michigan Victors Club. A special thanks to Crossroads Hospice, Amherst Meadows and the Gabriel Cancer Center. A Memorial Service will be held MONDAY, 11a.m, at the Canal Fulton United Methodist Church, 363 Cherry St. W., Canal Fulton, Rev. Jon George, officiating. Calling Hours, Sunday, 4pm to 7pm at the CHURCH and also one hour prior to service time on Monday. A luncheon will follow the service.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Canal Fulton United Methodist Church.
