James V. Neri, 87 of Canal Fulton, passed away Saturday, January 11, 2020 at Mercy Medical Center. Born on September 14, 1932 in Akron to the late Andrew and Lucy (Paccori) Neri, James had been an Akron/Canton area resident all of his life and retired from Klines Department Store after many years of service. Jim was a proud Army veteran having served during the Korean War Conflict. He enjoyed fishing, football, traveling, family gathers and watching his grandchildren play sports. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Mary, Jean and Judy; brothers, Albert, Alfred and Andy. Jim is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Evelyn (Watson) Neri; daughter, Jemmi Boso; son, Andy (Vickie) Neri; grandchildren, Collin and Alexis Neri, Jennifer (Dan) Prexta, Amanda (Steve) Lloyd; great-grandchildren, Alex, Joey and Delanie Prexta, Ava and Quinn Lloyd and sister, Gloria Rasicci.
A Memorial Service will be held THURSDAY, January 16, 2020, 7:00pm at the Swigart-Easterling Funeral Home, 624 Cherry St. E, (Rt. 93) Canal Fulton, John Rasicci officiating. Visitation ONE HOUR PRIOR to service time at the funeral home.
