James Arthur "Art" Lowry, 92 of Luna Lake, Clinton passed away Saturday, April 8, 2017. Art was born Jan. 2, 1925 in Carbondale , Ohio to the late Delbert and Edith (Bolen) Lowry and was a veteran of the U.S Navy in World War II. Art was a retired self-employed barber and also retired from Clinton Aluminum. He loved fishing at Luna Lake and also taking his Lake Erie boat, "The Shark Hunter" to the big pond and when many repairs were needed, his good friends helped in many ways. He also enjoyed running beagles in field trials and also hunting, bowling and golf. He had a champion in field trials, his dog "Dolly." Besides his parents, Art was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Alyson Ley; daughter-in-law, Cindy Lowry; son-in-law, David Blowers; brothers, Richard, Edwin and sister, Donna Bryan. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Marion (Kendall) Lowry; children, Sandra (Bob) Lawson, Barbara Blowers, James (Delaine) Lowry, Jr. and David (Jackie Woodcock) Lowry; seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; sister, Kathleen Lowry; nieces and nephews. Funeral service THURSDAY 11:30 a.m. at the Swigart-Easterling Funeral Home, 624 Cherry St. (Rte. 93) Canal Fulton with Rev. Kenneth Hutchinson officiating. Burial with military honors at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home WEDNESDAY 5-7 p.m. and Thursday one hour prior to time of service.
