John D. Dunlap, 70 of Jackson Twp, passed away Saturday, November 3, 2018 at his home. He was born May 8, 1948 in Steubenville, OH to the late Jack and Margaret (Tague) Dunlap. John was most proud of being a Marine Corps Veteran having served during Vietnam. He was a former newspaper editor in Trumbull Co., worked for Trumbull Co. Children's Services and retired as an Associate Professor of English at Stark State University. John officiated seven different sports throughout Stark and Summit Co,, was a lifetime member of Canal Fulton VFW 9795 and DAV of Trumbull Co. John is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Amy (Gross) Dunlap; children, Erin, Sean and Matthew Dunlap; sister, Linda (Mike) Barach; brothers, Tom (Melissa) and Glenn (Sandy) Dunlap; mother and father-in-law, David and Ruth Gross; sister-in-law, Lori (Bill) Salsbury; brothers-in-law, Lee (Lisa) Gross and Dean Grase; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held SATURDAY, 11am at Trinity United Church of Christ, 8101 Manchester Ave NW, Canal Fulton, Rev. Glen Shedlock officiating. Calling Hours Saturday, 9:30am to 11am at the church. Private burial at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery at a later date.
