Russell "Rusty" Haas Obituary

It is with the heaviest of hearts we announce the passing of Russell "Rusty" Haas, 32 of Canal Fulton. He passed away with his loving wife and family by his side on Sunday, November 10, 2019 at Aultman Hospital. Rusty was born on February 20, 1987 in Massillon. He grew up in Canal Fulton, along with his two older brothers. He was always surrounded by family and covered in love—teaching him lessons he would one day bring into his own family. Rusty’s smile rarely faltered, whether letting his mom take him out for her favorite chicken, watching football with his dad, or playing video games with his brothers, he brought joy to all he encountered. Rusty graduated in 2005 from Northwest High School and 2012 from Walsh University with a Bachelor’s degree in nursing. Nursing was an obvious choice for Russ, a job where he could bring his caring personality to those in need. Another obvious choice, was his beloved wife Megan. Rusty and Megan shared a fierce love which led to a beautiful family of their own. Rusty enjoyed nothing more than spending time teaching his son, Lewis, the same love of family, faith, and football that had been instilled in him at birth. He was an amazing father and husband, putting Lewis and Megan above all else, and his excitement over the coming birth of his daughter Elliana was felt by all he met. Rusty was a member of the First Friends Church in Canton, an avid fan of the Cleveland Browns and Ohio State Buckeyes and most importantly loved the time he spent with his family. The best days were the ones where Rusty could combine all of things together in a day feeding his faith, watching his Browns in a heart-pounding win, and enjoying it all with his family by his side. Rusty, you will be sorely missed for the rest of our days. We love you, rest in the arms of our Father, and Go Bucks. Preceded in death by his grandfather, Lewis Gandee; grandparents-in-law Rex Wallace; Franklin and Doris Clayton; Rusty is survived by his wife, Megan (Wallace) Haas; son, Lewis; daughter, Elliana; parents, John and Twila (Gandee) Haas; brothers, Dustin (Rachel) Haas and Scott (Danielle) Haas; grandmother, Dorothy Gandee; his in-laws, Charles and Gail (Clayton) Wallace; brother-in-law, Ryan (Maribel) Wallace; seven nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held FRIDAY, 10:00am at the First Friends Church, 5455 Market Ave North, Canton, Pastor Stan Hinshaw officiating. Burial at Clinton Cemetery. Calling Hours Thursday, 4pm to 8pm AT THE CHURCH. In lieu of flowers, donations in Rusty's name can be made to: In Jerry's Footsteps, 339 East Maple St., N. Canton, OH  44720.
