I am the owner of a 1940 Chevrolet Special Deluxe Sedan which Herb restored & modified around the early 1980's. After purchasing the car from a prior Navarre owner, I drove it to Herb's Auto Repair one day a few years ago so Herb might see his old creation. He was very nice to me and gave the vehicle a good going over, pronouncing it almost exactly the same as when he did all of the work on it so many years before.

He told me the sad story of his son's untimely death, which I cd. tell still affected him greatly.

Mr. Wells knew his stuff. I'm sorry to have just learned of his passing. (I have left the '40 Chevy just as he built it.)

My heart goes out to the Wells Family at their time of loss. May God bless & keep all of you, I didn't know him personally but Ninette is my stepdaughter whom I still dearly love & I'm sure she is heart broken over the loss of her father-in-law.

Trudy & family, so sorry to hear of Herb's passing. He was a special person and a great friend....always willing to help out and happy to see you drop by even if it wasn't for car repairs. I remember on our family's seven week adventure trip across the US in our Albatross , he said if we had problems, and weren't near a garage, give him a call and he would see if he could help figure out the problem... We had breakdowns in a number of states and a call to him would result in a long distance analysis of the problem. How many friends would do that and enjoy talking about it when we were back in Ohio. His friendliness, and enjoyment to see you will be missed by myself and my family. May God comfort you through these times. Jim Biss

Trudy, so sorry to hear about Herb. We enjoyed having both of you at our get-togethers last fall. Herb was a good man and we are honored to have been able to call you both our friends. He will be missed by all your friends here on Crum Ridge. Praying that God wraps you in his love and comforts you and your family as you go through the loss of your loved one.
