William Patrick Lawler, 90 of Manchester, passed away Friday, April 20, 2018 at Rose Lane Health Center. Born on August 3, 1927 in Akron to the late John and Bertha (Keenan) Lawler he had been a life resident of the Akron/Manchester area, graduated from Manchester High School and was a proud Army veteran having served in WWII. William worked for O'Neils, Stow Fire Dept. and was a retired truck driver for Yellow Freight. William was a member of the Canal Fulton VFW 9795, Stow VFW 4738, American Legion 281, Greater Akron Motorcycle Club, and the former Elliot Lodge #514. He attended Harvest Christian Church in Canton, Canton Temple of Praise, High Street Christian in Akron and St. Stephen Church in Stow.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by infant brother Richard Lawler and sister Kaylynn Wise. William is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Phyllis (Crites) Lawler; children, Richard Lawler, Julie (Phil) January, Lori (Ken) Knight, Kathy (Allen) Jackson and Shawn (Tammy) Lawler; seven grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; sister, Barbara (Tom) Flegge; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held THURSDAY, 11:30am at the Swigart-Easterling Funeral Home, 624 E. Cherry St. (Rt. 93) Canal Fulton, Rod Grabski officiating. Friends may call Thursday 10am until the time of service. Burial with military honors at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to a charity of your choice or the Shriners Hospital.
