Alfreda S. Chesko, 95 died Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at The Pines in Canton.
She was born in Akron to the late Benjamin and Sophia (Ochap) Gutowski, and was an Akron area resident most of her life, residing in Canal Fulton the last 30 years. She was a member of SS Philip & James Catholic Church, Canal Fulton and the Altar & Rosary Society at the church. Alfreda retired from First National Bank after 30 years of service in the banking industry.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Steve Chesko; brother and sister-in-law, Al and Della Gutowski. Alfreda is survived by her daughters, Patricia Meyer, London Derry, New Hampshire, Barbara (Steve) Day, Massillon; sons, Stephen (Sue) Chesko, Canal Fulton and Thomas (Jeanne) Chesko, Wadsworth; 3 grandchildren, Dawn, Randy and Rebecca; great grandson, Jeffrey; sister, Blanche Babich; brother, George (Joyce) Denilen.
Mass of the Christian Burial SATURDAY, 10:00 a.m. at SS Philip & James Catholic Church, 412 High St. North, Canal Fulton with Fr. Kevin McCaffrey officiating. Friends may call FRIDAY at Swigart-Easterling Funeral Home, 624 East Cherry Street (Rt. 93,Canal Fulton) from 5 pm-7pm. Burial Holy Cross Cemetery, Akron. Memorials in Alfreda's name can be made to the American Cancer Society.
