Alvin (Skip) E. Bucksbarg passed away Nov. 7, 2016 at Mercy Medical Center. He was born Dec. 30, 1930 to Gahl and Berdine (Hoagland) Bucksbarg. Skip was a graduate of Washington High School, class of 1949 and was employed at Republic Steel Enduro Division, Massillon, retiring in 1993 after 43 years service. He was a United States Air Force veteran stationed in Japan, as a control tower operator during the Korean War.
He was preceded in death by his parent, his first wife Sandra (Steiner) Bucksbarg in 1980 and his son, Sean M. Bucksbarg in 1985. Skip is survived by wife, Janet (Clawson) Bucksbarg; son, Scott (Lorraine) Bucksbarg of Canton; son, Steven (Cheryl) Bucksbarg of Massillon; daughter, Shari (Jerry) Friedman of Navarre; three step-children, Steven (Anita) Clawson, Debra Clawson of Massillon and Diane Reese of Urichsville; eight grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; 14 great grandchldren; two sisters, Lois Hornberger and Vicky Sue Hatheway of Massillon; best friend Bob Hollender of Massillon.
Skip loved garage sales and flea markets and also delivered meals on wheels. It was Skip's wish to be cremated and there will be no services. Donations may be made to the Salvation Army.
