Ann C. Wingerter, 80 of Canal Fulton, passed away Sunday, September 13, 2026. She was born December 19, 1945 in Akron to the late Joseph and Anna (Sabo) Balogh. Ann graduated from Kenmore High School and Hammell Business School and retired from the City of Akron with over 30 years of service. She was a long time member of SS Philip & James Catholic Church.

Ann loved gardening, hiking, traveling, anything Elvis and especially loved her cats and family gatherings. She was an avid reader and lifelong learner. She enjoyed reading about nature, animals and history.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers and sisters-in-law, Joseph (Rose), Jim (Kay), Frank (Dolores), Charles (Lena), Louis and Ernie (Jean); nieces, Emma Cooke and Pat Hoffman; nephews, Mike Balogh, Brian Balogh and Andrew Balogh.

Ann is survived by her devoted husband of 44 years, Todd Wingerter; several loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff at Pleasant View Health Care for their love and care of Ann.

Your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure. You are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.

Mass of Christian Burial FRIDAY, September 18, 2026, 11:30am at SS Philip and James Catholic Church, 412 High St. NE Canal Fulton, Fr. John Sheridan Celebrant. Burial at Holy Cross Cemetery. Visitation Friday, 10am to 11am at the Swigart-Easterling Funeral Home 624 Cherry St. E. (Rt. 93) Canal Fulton. In lieu of flowers donations are requested to the Stark County Humane Society, PO Box 7077, Canton, OH 44705.
