Barbara L. Broughton, 95 formerly of Manchester, passed away Friday, September 10, 2021. Barbara was born April 15, 1926 to Blanche (Dye) and Elmer Beals. She graduated from Barberton High School in 1944, and married Ray Broughton in 1945. She had four children. One child, Don Carl died shortly after birth in 1946. She is survived by her husband, Ray; daughters, Kay Broughton of Geneva; Nancy Broughton of Barberton and Ruth (Gary) McClelland of Arkansas.  She also has two grandchildren,  Robert Locke and Laura VanArsdel ; four step grandchildren and six great grandchildren Barb graduated from the University of Akron with a degree in Education. She taught in the Barberton School System for twenty-six years,with 23 years at Johnson Elementary School.  She was involved in the Summit County Retired Teachers Association and volunteered  20 years with the Girls Scouts.  She was a member of Manchester Christian Church, where she sang in the choir. She also sang with the Canal Fulton Sweet Adelines Chapter. Funeral Services will be held THURSDAY, September 16, 2021, 1:00pm at the Swigart-Easterling Funeral Home, 624 Cherry St. E. (Rt. 93) Canal Fulton, Rob Kasler and Jack Brown officiating. Burial at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Visitation Thursday ONE HOUR PRIOR to service time at the funeral home.
