BARBARA ANNE PATCHEN (nee Herip), age 82, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 7, 2024.

As a precious daughter, beloved wife, devoted mother, and cherished grandmother, Barbara was deeply dedicated to her family. She was a pillar of love and strength to all, and that will be her most treasured and enduring legacy.

She will be greatly missed by her four daughters Deborah Dezember (Garnett), Susan Patchen, Jennifer McCall (Brian), and Sandra Freeman (Christopher); and adored grandchildren Michael Griffith (Drew), Kurtis McCall, Daniel Dezember, Steven Griffith, Craig McCall, Laura Dezember, Jonathan Freeman (Megan), William Freeman, and Samuel Freeman. She will be remembered fondly to her great-granddaughters Violet Freeman and (soon) Elliot Griffith. The love she brought to each of their lives is immeasurable, and will never be forgotten.

"Barbie" was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Raymond Patchen. She was the love of his life, and filled their years together with lively family gatherings, delicious food, and simple pleasures.

Her parents, Walter and Stella Herip (nee Burakowski), and sister Alice Bokovitz (nee Herip) preceded her in death; she is survived by brother Walter Herip.

A private service will be held graveside at Holy Cross Cemetery, Brookpark, OH

The family would also like to thank the wonderful caregivers at Arden Courts Memory Care Community (Bath, OH) for the compassionate care, kindness, and love they provided during her time with them.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in support of the Ukrainian Crisis.
