Betty J. Dale, 85, passed peacefully on Dec. 1, 2022 after a brief illness. Betty was a lifelong resident of North Lawrence and member of the Chapel of the Cross Global Methodist Church where she served as organist for 60 years, and church secretary for 50 years.  Betty was also an active member of the North Lawrence Volunteer Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary from 1976 until her passing.  Mrs. Dale was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years Fred Dale, her parents, Gerald and Irene Lawrence and sister Linda Coleman.  Surviving are her son, Dan (Courtney) Dale of Austin, Texas, daughters Peggy Smith of Massillon and Brenda Dale of North Lawrence, 6 grandsons Jeremy Dale, Brian Williams, Brandon Williams, Jason Smith, Jack Dale, Fred Dale and 6 great-grandchildren. A celebration of Betty's life will be held on Tuesday, December 13 at 11:00 AM at Chapel of the Cross Church, 14411 Orrville St. NW, North Lawrence. Burial at Newmans Creek Cemetery.  In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the North Lawrence Volunteer Fire Department or to the Chapel of the Cross Global Methodist Church.
