Obituary

Beverly Jean Craig passed away on March 10, 2026, after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was born on August 4, 1934, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to Wilfred and Myrtle Hagen. She grew up in Minneapolis before moving to Lima, Ohio during her high school years. She graduated from Lima Central High School.

Beverly later attended and graduated from Capital University, where she met the love of her life, Rev. David Craig. The two were married on June 12, 1960, and shared a beautiful and loving marriage for 60 years until David’s passing in 2021.

Beverly was the backbone of her family and a steadfast partner in her husband’s ministry. Throughout the years, she faithfully supported the many activities and responsibilities of church life. She taught Sunday School, organized women’s church groups, hosted staff Christmas dinners, and was always ready to lend a helping hand wherever it was needed. Her quiet strength, dedication, and generosity touched countless lives within the church community. Above all, she took great pride in and deeply loved her family.

In the early 1980s, Beverly began working as a Weight Watchers instructor, where she encouraged and supported others in reaching their personal health goals. Later, she volunteered her time at the Lutheran Synod office in Cuyahoga Falls, continuing her lifelong commitment to service. In retirement, she and David enjoyed traveling and spending time together.

Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, Wilfred and Myrtle Hagen; her beloved husband, David Craig; and her children, Brian Craig and Diane Craig.

She is survived by her son, Stephen (Misty) Craig; her grandchildren, Brian Craig Jr., Robert Craig, Ethan Craig, and Grace Craig; and her great-grandchildren, Sawyer Craig, Carter Craig, Kayden Craig, and Dallas Kibby. She is also survived by her brothers, Richard (Julie) Hagen and Robert (Barbara) Hagen.

Her family will remember Beverly for her deep faith, her devotion to her family, and the kindness and support she gave so freely to others. Her legacy of love, service, and faith will live on in the many lives she touched.

The family wishes to express special thanks to the staff at Chapel Hill Community for their loving care of Beverly over the last five years. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Chapel Hill Community or the Alzheimer’s Association.

A Memorial Service will be held SATURDAY, April 4, 2026, 11:00 am at St Stephen Martyr Lutheran Church, 4600 Fulton Dr NW, Canton with visitation ONE HOUR PRIOR to service time at the church. Burial to follow at St. Michael’s Cemetery in Marshallville.
