Obituary

Blaine M. Cook, 69 of Canal Fulton died Saturday, May 9, 2015. Blaine was a lifetime resident of the Akron area and was a retired teacher with the Akron Public Schools, serving his entire career at Jennings Middle School. He was a member of SS Philip & James Catholic Church, Canal Fulton, was a lifetime member of N.R.A., and a member of the Medina Bird Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, riding his bike and especially his grandchildren and family. Blaine was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Eulalia; brother, Chris; sister, Pam and is survived by his wife of 43 years, Georgene; children, Andrea (Brian) Thomas, Nathan (fiancee' Sara; children, James and Gavin) Cook, Benjamin (Sarah) Cook; grandchildren, Abigail and Owen Thomas, Oliver and Desmond Cook and a fifth grandchild due in July; sisters, Charlene, Brenda and Marilyn; brothers, Douglas, Adrian, Mark, Keith and Kent; numerous nieces and nephews. A Memorial Mass of the Christian Burial will be Thursday 10:00 a.m. at SS Philip & James Catholic Church, 412 N. High St., Canal Fulton, with Fr. Kevin McCaffrey celebrant. Family and friends may call WEDNESDAY 4-7 pm at the Swigart-Easterling Funeral Home, 624 E. Cherry St. (Rte. 93, Canal Fulton)
