Boyd "Bud" E.
Getz III
Jan 24, 1961 — Aug 17, 2026
Clinton
Boyd E. Getz III “Bud”, 65, passed away Monday, August 17, 2026. Born January 24, 1961 to the late Boyd Jr. and Brenda (Schneider) Getz; Bud was a life resident of Luna Lake and a 1979 graduate of Northwest High School. A loyal supporter of Northwest Athletics, you could catch Buddy in the stands almost nightly cheering on his alma mater and being the unofficial photographer for many sports teams.
A dedicated worker and employee, Buddy was the store manager for Fulton Hardware. His commitment to the job started when he was in high school and has spanned almost 50 years.
Bud was a devoted member of Lakeview Christian Church for the past 30+ years where he could be seen running sound every week, serving with youth and helping at Round Lake church camp. He was baptized at his home church First Church of Christ in Clinton, Ohio, where he served as Youth Sponsor and leader. He touched many lives serving in so many ways and his impact will be greatly missed.
He loved growing peppers, the hotter the better in which he would make his own “hotter than fire” salsa, which even made several Mexican friends sweat on many of Lakeview’s mission trips. He was an avid pen pal with friends around the world, he loved to play dominos and games with friends, and his photographer skills led his to be the team photographer for the Canton South Wildcat Cheerleaders.
His love for people, gentle spirit, selfless service and faith made him who he was, which is why he touched so many.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Bruce Getz. Bud is survived by his brother, Bennett Getz; niece, Nanette Getz; nephew, Tommy Getz and cousins who loved him dearly, along with many dear friends and colleagues that he worked with at the hardware store.
A Celebration of Life is being planned for a later date at the Lakeview Christian Church.
