Carl Eugene Sheatzley, 86 of Canal Fulton died Monday, April 15, 2013. Carl was born in Alliance, Ohio and had been a resident of Canal Fulton for over 40 years. He retired from the Ohio State Patrol after 28 years of service as a Limit Load Inspector and Driver License Examiner. Following retirement from the patrol, Carl worked for the Swigart-Easterling Funeral Home in Canal Fulton for almost 30 years. He was a veteran of the US Navy serving in the South Pacific during World War II. Carl was preceded in death by his parents, Emory and Emma (Bates) Sheatzley; his brother, Clinton and is survived by his wife of 66 years, Alice (Anderson) Sheatzley; two nieces and one nephew; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Joann and Larry Culp of Sebring. Funeral Service will be THURSDAY, 7:00 p.m. at the Swigart-Easterling Funeral Home, 624 East Cherry Street, (Rt. 93, Canal Fulton) with Dave Dahlstein officiating and where friends may call THURSDAY from 5:00 p.m. until time of service. Burial with military honors FRIDAY 11:00 a.m. at the Salem Greenlawn Cemetery, 14113 Salem Church Road, (Washington Twp). Alliance, OH 44601.
