Chad W Smith, 34, of Canal Fulton passed away suddenly on December 26, 2014. Born in Massillon Ohio, he resided in the Canal Fulton area for most of his life. Most recently, he lived in Wilmington North Carolina where he was a Specialist in the United States Army National Guard. Chad had a passion for music which drove him to become a founding member of the group Velcro. With an infectious smile and a great sense of humor he made many friends and was able to touch many lives. Chad is survived by his wife Courtney (Waybright) Smith; children Emma, Aubrey, and Zeke; parents Flo (Fahrney) Abbott and Chester Smith; siblings Vincent (Heather) Smith and Jennifer (Matthew) Kimler and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and his beloved dog Vader. Friends may call Tuesday December 30, 2014 from 1:00-4:00p.m. at the Canal Fulton United Methodist Church, 363 Cherry St (Route 93) Canal Fulton, with a memorial service immediately following at 4pm, officiated by Pastor Jonathan George. Shall friends desire, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to his family.
