Obituary

C. Chad Crawford. 49 of Jackson Twp.lost his two year battle with cancer on Saturday, September 14, 2013 when he went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Chad is survived by his loving wife, Shawn Lewis Crawford and their three children, Cody, Cara and Clay. He will be greatly missed by his mother, Donnis Crawford Merkle (Howard) of Clinton; father, Chuck Crawford (Joyce) of Strongsville; his sisters Charlotte Hamric (Steve) and Elaine Futrell (Mike). He was loved dearly by his in-laws, Jim and Janet Lewis of Uniontown and brothers-in-law Todd and Erik (Sheri) Lewis. He was a VERY special uncle to Jason (Rena) Hamric, Michael (Kelly) Futrell, Jeremiah (Jen) Hamric, Desiree (Steve) Cespedes, Jordan, Lindsay Lewis; Cole, Brooke and Morgan Lewis, along with numerous great nieces and nephews. Chad was active in community events, especially those involving his children. He was a mover and shaker, loving every moment of helping someone and finding ways to get himself and others involved. Chad was always smiling, never met a stranger, and was always more than willing to roll up his sleeves and do what needed to be done; always with Christ in his heart. Chad was a 1982 graduate of Manchester High School, attended the University of Toledo Pharmacy School, and served with the US Army 350th Evac Hospital. Chad served as PTA president of Pfeiffer School and the Vocal Music Boosters Club at Miller South School for the Visual and Performing Arts. He also served as the president of the Northwest Touchdown Club and as an umpire for Northwest Baseball. He was also very active with both the Ohio Elite and Ohio Xstreme Baseball Organizations. Special thanks to VNS Hospice Care Center nurses and aides, the oncology staff at the Arthur James Cancer Center and to everyone who has been so gracious, kind and supportive with meals, prayers, phone calls, text messages, cards and loving, encouraging words; we thank you more than words can ever say. Family and friends may call THURSDAY 4-8 p.m. at the HighPoint Christian Church, 2545 West Comet Road, Clinton, Ohio , where Pastor John Stahl will conduct services FRIDAY 11:00 a.m. At Chad's request, we ask that no flowers be sent, but instead a donation be made to either the Arthur James Cancer Center, Department of Development, in care of : Walsh Jesuit Baseball/Chad Crawford Showcase For the Cure, 300 West 10th Avenue, Columbus, OH 43210 or Northwest Junior Baseball Softball League, PO Box 332, Canal Fulton, OH 44614.
