Charles K. Schmalix, Sr. 75 of New Franklin died Monday, January 17, 2011 at the Hospice Care Center. He was born April 7, 1935 in Brooklyn, New York to the late William and Carolyn Schmalix and had been involved with and member of Lapidary Clubs of Stark and Summit Counties. He enjoyed country and western dancing, boating and was an avid snow skier. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Elizabeth Becker Schmalix; son Charles (Lucille) Schmalix, Jr. and one grandchild, Lindsay Schmalix. Funeral Service, THURSDAY, 11 a.m. at the Swigart-Easterling Funeral Home, 624 E. Cherry St. ( Rt. 93, Canal Fulton) with Dave Dahlstein officiating and where friends may call WEDNESDAY, 6-8 pm.
