Charlotte Ann Hoosic

Charlotte Ann Hoosic (Kemzura), age 87, of Jackson Township, passed away Saturday, January 24, 2026.

Charlotte was born on May 4, 1938 in eastern Pennsylvania near Wilkes Barre/Scranton to parents, Charles and Anna (Reback) Kemzura

Charlotte was the middle child in a family of four girls and one boy.

After high school graduation, Charlotte went to work in the packing and shipping department at a clothing factory, and then as an operator at Bell Telephone. After her marriage to Thomas P Hoosic in 1960, Charlotte was a stay-at-home mom to her three children. She later became the local Avon lady.

Charlotte enjoyed her role as mother, then grandmother, and recently great-grandmother.

She was always outgoing and was blessed with the “gift of gab”. She had a beautiful rich singing voice and loved singing church hymns.

Charlotte enjoyed cooking and baking and always looked forward to spending time with her grandkids, often making big Sunday dinners and occasionally treating them to her famous donuts.

Charlotte is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Marcia Hoosic; daughter Karen Carlson; grandchildren, Alex Starosta, Angela Starosta, Erik Carlson (Danielle Carlson), Mia Carlson (Lance Kopp), and Zoey Hoosic; great-granddaughter, Emilia Carlson; as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family. In addition to her parents and siblings, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Suzanne Hoosic Starosta, and her husband Thomas Hoosic.

Catholic Mass of Christian Burial will be held at SS. Philip and James Church, 412 N. High St. in Canal Fulton, OH on Saturday February 7, 2026 at 11am. Burial will take place at Canal Fulton Cemetery following the service.
