Clara "Irene" Schaer, 87 of Canton, formerly of Canal Fulton died Monday, April 18, 2011. Irene was born and grew up in Akron, but had been a longtime resident of the Canal Fulton/Massillon area. She retired from Massillon State Hospital and was a longtime member of Chapel of the Cross Church in North Lawrence. Irene loved to crochet and play cards, especially Ernie's game. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest and is survived by her children: Judy (Steve) Yant, Junior Laughlin, and Karen (Paul) Irwin. 8 Grandchildren, 10 Great Grandchildren , 5 Great, Great Grandchildren and dearest friend, Betty Demharter.
