Obituary

Connie (Randolph) Hoops, 69, passed into the arms of Jesus on September 10th, 2017 after an amazing and courageous three year battle with cancer. She was peaceful and surrounded by her loving family. Born to Thomas and Alice Liles Randolph on February 20th, 1948, Connie spent most of her life in the Canal Fulton area. As a 1966 graduate of Northwest High School, she worked several jobs in the local area. On November 22, 1969 married the love of her life, Denver Hoops. The next several years were spent helping her husband finish college and they welcomed a daughter, Michele. Connie lived in Stuttgard, Germany for a year in 1971 as an Army wife. Upon returning to the U.S., they welcomed their second child, Scott. In 1972, Connie moved to Bolivar and then to Canton where she started a highly successful Tupperware career and in 1979 was able to build her dream home in Canal Fulton. In 1989, Connie fulfilled a long time dream of owning and operating "Connie's Restaurant" in Marshallville, Ohio for 10 years. She then retired to help take care of her grandchildren, who were an immense source of joy and pride for her. In 2005, Connie and her husband Denver started a 9 year odyssey of traveling to all 48 states and Alaska, mostly by car, which was something she so very much enjoyed. Connie was one of the strongest and most caring people. She was the family caregiver for her mom and dad, as well as her siblings and immediate family. She was an amazing example of how to live life to the fullest. "Life is good today." She is survived by her husband of 47 years Denver Hoops, Daughter Michele Rohr (Ken), Son Randolph Scott Hoops, Grandchildren Casi Rohr, Tony Rohr (Treva), Molly Rohr and Amber Rohr, Great grandchildren Isabella Blair and Gannon Rohr, siblings Pat Murphy, Lyle Randolph (Edie), Shelia Douglas, Carol Walsh (Roger), Debbie Berens (Mark), and Tim Randolph (Donna). Also many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Kelly Lautzenheiser of Aultman Hospice for her passionate care. Funeral service will be FRIDAY 10:30 am at the Swigart-Easterling Funeral Home, 624 Cherry Street East (Rte. 93) Canal Fulton with her brother, Lyle Randolph officiating. Burial will take place in Canal Fulton Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home THURSDAY 5-7 p.m. and Friday one hour prior to time of the service.
