Cindy Upholzer, age 72, was born in 1941 in Akron, OH. She was a graduate of Coventry High School in 1959. Cindy was a long-time resident of Akron. She was preceded in death by her father, Mervin Griffis and brother Mark Griffis. She is survived by her husband, Robert, of 53 years. She is survived by her children Karyn Hendricks (Michael), Jeffrey Upholzer (Teri), Steven Upholzer (Angel) and Sandra Orcutt (Stephen). She is also survived by her 15 grandchildren: Paul, Jordan and Alex Hendricks; Rachel, Adam and Brooke Upholzer; Lauren and Grace Upholzer; Katelyn, Madelyn, Stephen, Abigail and Elizabeth Orcutt and Jonathan and Kahley Wozniak. She is also survived by her mother Jerry Griffis and sister Sally E. Brooker (Jim). Cindy and her husband Bob owned the Ben Franklin Store in Canal Fulton for 30 years. In addition to being a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, Cindy enjoyed knitting, boating, gardening, and the beauty in nature and was an avid bird watcher and rock collector. As a devoted mother, she was interested in the health and happiness of each family member and friend. Everyone benefitted from her positive outlook on life. The family would like to thank Parkview Center and Mary Ostrow for the kindness and care during her illness. Calling Hours will be held Sunday, October 13, 2013, 1pm to 3pm, at the Swigart-Easterling Funeral Home, 624 E. Cherry St. (Rt 93) Canal Fulton with a Memorial Service to follow at 3pm. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Northern Ohio, 5700 Brecksville Rd, 3rd Floor, Independence, OH 44131.
