David A. Hodges, 77 of Canal Fulton, passed away Wednesday, April 15, 2026. He was born December 9, 1948 in Akron to the late Richard and Margie (Roe) Hodges and was a 1967 graduate of Akron Buchtel High School. Dave was a proud US Army veteran having served during Vietnam and retired from Consolidated Freightways after 25 years of service. After retirement he volunteered for many years at the Akron Civic Theatre.

Dave had a passion for woodworking. He also enjoyed playing pool, euchre, fishing, hunting water and snow skiing and also enjoyed watching Star Trek. He could talk your ear off with his story telling and jokes.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Carol Jean Hodges. Dave is survived by his loving wife and high school sweetheart of 55 years, Karen (Stahler) Hodges; sons, David (Beth) Hodges II and Joseph (Stacy) Hodges; grandchildren, Karilyn (Nate) Goff, Heidi, Diana, Hannah, Bobby and Lucy Hodges; great-granddaughter, Madilyn Groff; brother, Richard E. Hodges Jr.; sister-in-law, Nancy (Michael) Kray II; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A funeral service will be held TUESDAY, April 21, 2026, 12:00pm at the Swigart-Easterling Funeral Home, 624 Cherry St. E. (Rt. 93) Canal Fulton. Visitation MONDAY 6pm to 8pm at the funeral home and also one hour prior to service time on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O.
