Dean A. Everhart, 69 of Canal Fulton, passed away Tuesday, October 20, 2015. Born in Massillon to the late Lawrence Jr. and Helen (Johnson) Everhart he had been an area resident all of his life, graduating from Manchester High School Class of '64. Dean graduated from Milligan College in 1968 and retired after 35 years as an educator having spent the majority of his career at McKinley Senior High School. Dean actively coached various athletics including football, basketball and softball throughout his teaching career. He is best known for the 21 years as a Head Softball Coach for McKinley and Northwest High Schools. He was very proud of the successes and records that his teams were able to accomplish under his leadership. At retirement, he had 249 wins. One of his proudest coaching moments is when he led the Northwest Indians Girl Softball to winning the 2007 NBC League Championship. He dedicated many years serving as an active member of Manchester Church of Christ and is presently a member of Parkside Church in Green. He had a deep passion for his family, involving himself in his children and grandchildren's interests. He had a love for old cars and music. He enjoyed tinkering with model cars and collecting car magazines. In addition, he spent many hours cruising with his wife in his Dodge Challenger.
In addition to his parents, Dean was preceded in death by brother, Terry Everhart; Survivors include his loving wife of 48 years, Terri (Brokaw) Everhart; daughter, Heather (Jay) Johnson; son, Jason (Christine) Everhart; grandchildren, Luke and Ben Everhart, Grace, Taft and Mack Johnson.
Funeral Services will be held, TUESDAY, October 27, 2015, 11 am, at Parkside Church, 4520 S. Arlington Rd., Green, Pastor Adam Romans and Pastor David Underwood officiating. Burial at Canal Fulton Cemetery. Calling Hours MONDAY 6pm to 8pm at the CHURCH.
