IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Edward A.
"Bud" Stafford
August 5, 1941 – November 10, 2024
Edward A. "Bud" Stafford, age 83, passed away Sunday, November 10, 2024. Bud was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Susan L., and his parents, Dorothy S. Stafford and Arthur E. Stafford. He is survived by his children Michael E. Stafford, Leslie Anderson, and David (Shelly) Stafford, grandchildren Emily (TJ), Scott (Elaina), Marie, and Annabel, his sister Judy Cable, many nieces and nephews, extended family members, and lifelong friends. Bud was a Union Pipe Fitter and Plumber for 20+ years before he started his own business, Stafford Plumbing Inc., where he worked until his retirement in 2003. When Bud was younger, he was an assistant coach for the MYFB Varsity team. He loved coaching and everything about it. During an 8-year stretch the Varsity went to 6 Suburban League Championship Games going 3-2-1 and even had a 3-year run of being undefeated (30-0) during the regular season. Over the years he formed many lifelong relationships with fellow coaches and players, all of which were Proud and Fond memories for him. Besides coaching, Bud loved tinkering with classic cars and had a lifelong passion for plants and gardening. He could revive anyone's struggling houseplant and kept the outside gardens flourishing (with Susan's help, of course). He was a talented baker and loved to bring bread and cookies to neighbors and friends as often as he could. His favorite thing to do was to drive down to the Amish stores and auctions in Mt. Hope with his friends and gather the best ingredients for his baking. As he got older, much of Bud's life revolved around his grandchildren. He and Susan loved being a part of their lives and helping raise them. They attended every sporting event and ceremony those kids were in and loved having family over to celebrate any milestone. Per Bud's wishes, no services will be held. The family asks that you keep his memory alive by baking bread, nurturing a houseplant, or adopting one of his famous "Bud-isms" as your own. He will truly be missed by everyone who had the privilege to meet him.
