Eileen R. Huryn, 76 of Canal Fulton, passed away Saturday, February 26, 2022. She was born November 27, 1945 in Akron to the late Walter and Theresa McFadden. Eileen had been a Canal Fulton area resident most of her life, having taught 3rd grade for 23 years at SS Philip and James School and won the Diocese "Golden Apple Award" for devoting her life to teaching in the Catholic Schools. She was also a member of SS Philip and James Catholic Church, having served as a Eucharistic Minister. Eileen loved to bowl, travel, read and play Scrabble. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Robert McFadden. Eileen is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Mike Huryn; children, Christopher (Leslie) Huryn of Cuyahoga Falls, Kathleen (Simon) Rothman of Palo Alto, CA, Anne (Jason) Bing of Canton and Nicholas (Radhika) Huryn of New York, NY; grandchildren, Samuel, Jacob, Natalie, Maxwell, Lukas, Kara, Josie, Grant and Alexander; brothers, William (Marlene) and John (Anita) McFadden; sisters, Mary (Glenn) Houk and Evelyn (Al) Farley; sister-in-law, Beth McFadden. Mass of Christian Burial will be held THURSDAY, March 3, 2022, 10:00am at SS Philip and James Catholic Church, 412 High St. NE, Canal Fulton, Fr. Kevin McCaffrey celebrant. Entombment at Holy Cross Cemetery, Akron. Calling Hours Wednesday, 5pm to 8pm at the Swigart-Easterling Funeral Home, 624 Cherry St. E. (Rt. 93) Canal Fulton.
