Ernest Vargo, 91 of Canal Fulton formerly of Akron died Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at his home. Ernest was a life resident of the Akron/Canal Fulton area, had retired from Firestone Tire & Rubber Co and was an Army Veteran of World War II. He was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Violet E. "Penny" Vargo (1995); brothers, Joseph and Louis; sisters, Vilma, Irma and Mary. He is survived by his daughter, Rita (Butch) Gearhart of Canal Fulton; son Ernest (Deborah) Vargo of Indianapolis, Indiana; grandchildren, Stephannie (Simon Morgan-Russell) Gearhart, Emilie (Justin) Christoff, Rachel(Andrew Rossetti) Vargo and Adam Vargo; great grandchildren, Max and Eve.

Funeral Service MONDAY, 2:30pm at the Swigart-Easterling Funeral Home, 624 Cherry St. East (Rt.93, Canal Fulton) with Jim Gindlesberger officiating. Friends may call Monday from 1:30pm until time of the service. Burial at Canal Fulton Cemetery.
