Eugene Van Hamilton, 95. He was born in Green Castle, IN, lived in Marshallville and New Franklin prior to his residence at Chapel Hill Community where he passed away Sept. 1, 2015. He retired from General Tire and Rubber Co., served along with six of his brothers in WWII in the Army Corps of Engineers and was a member of the VFW #9795. Preceded in death by his wife Josephine; He is survived by son and daughter-in-law Frank and Kim of N. Canton, son Joseph of Green, daughter and son-in-law Mary and Eric Prather of Canal Fulton; grandchildren Michael Hamilton, Kristy (Matt) Tarnowski, David (Bridget) Prather, Daniel Prather, Allison (Paolo) Buell; great-grandchildren, Gavin and Peyton Hamilton and Zoe Tarnowski. Also survived by brothers Charles (Margaret) Hamilton, Russell (Betty) Hamilton; sister Doris (Donald) Lemon; nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held SATURDAY, Sept. 5, 2015, 11:00am, at the Swigart-Easterling Funeral Home, 624 E. Cherry St. (Rt. 93) Canal Fulton, Fr. Kevin McCaffrey, officiating. Friends may call ONE HOUR PRIOR to service time. Entombment at Holy Cross Cemetery, Akron, with Military Honors by Firestone VFW #3383. In lieu of flowers memorials in Eugene's name to the Alzheimers Association, 408 9th St. SW, Canton, OH 44707.
