Frederic S. “Fred” McKinnon, 81 of Canal Fulton, passed away Sunday, October 25, 2026. Born June 28, 1945 to the late Robert McKinnon and Edith (Dickerson) McKinnon-Harris; he was a proud US Air Force Veteran having served during Vietnam. Fred retired from a 30 year career in Transportation Logistics. He enjoyed birding, photography, hiking, biking and camping. Most importantly he enjoyed spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jon McKinnon. Fred is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Linda (Kohler) McKinnon; son, Dan McKinnon; surrogate daughter, Darla (Paul) Nash and their children, William and Elizabeth; sisters-in-law, Arlene McKinnon, Andrea (James) Wagner, Deborah (Richard) Amundsen, Melissa (Joseph) Wagner and Brenda (Phil) Moubray; nephews, Stephen and Michael McKinnon.

Visitation will be held MONDAY, November 2, 2026, 11:00am to 1:00pm at the Swigart-Easterling Funeral Home, 624 Cherry St. E. (Rt. 93) Canal Fulton. Burial with military honors Chestnut Hill Memorial Park, Cuyahoga Falls.
