Gary Gard Grover, age 77, from Canton, Ohio, passed away in the company of family on October 1, 2024, at 3:05 pm.

Gary was preceded in death with his parents George Runyon Grover and Ione Mae Salabank Grover, wife of 15 years, Enora Irene Grover. He is survived by brothers: James (Jim) Dennis Grover and George Kimberly Grover, sisters-in-law, Joann and Suzanne Grover; 4 nieces; 2 nephews; 9 great nieces and 3 great nephews.

Gary was a graduate of Northwest High School and attended Kent State University, majoring in Geography.

Gary joined Vista Volunteers (Volunteers in service to America) and was selected to serve in Guam, where he met Nora and married 2 years later.

Gary worked for the Stark County Area Transit Systems, followed by a Supervisor for the City of Canton until his retirement in 2004.

Gary was a supporter of many charities and organizations including the American Cancer Society, which he helped build interests for the Firestone Golf Tournaments each year in Akron, Ohio.

He enjoyed playing golf, model railroading, raising fish, wood working and riding motorcycles. He did so in several countries around the world.

Funeral Services will be held SATURDAY, October 5, 2024, 1:00pm at the Swigart-Easterling Funeral Home, 624 Cherry St. E. (Rt. 93) Canal Fulton. Visitation ONE HOUR PRIOR to the service. Burial at Canal Fulton Cemetery.
