George "Bill" Calhoun, age 81 of New Franklin went to be with the Lord on January 19, 2022. He was born on August 13, 1940, in Everett, PA. George worked at Roadway Express/YRC for 38 years as a systems analysis manager. He was a 45 year member of the Manchester United Methodist Church and an Army veteran. George enjoyed spending time with his family, bowling, golfing, and his annual fishing trips to New York. Most of all, George could be found anywhere his grandchildren were. Whether watching a sporting event, playing board games, attending school events or any other activity, he was always there. They were his greatest joy. George is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Sharlet Anna (Farris), son Todd Calhoun, daughter and son in law, Stacie and Todd Lindeman and his grandchildren, Nolan, Nina, Coy and Colin Lindeman. Also surviving are brother Darrell Calhoun of Lorain, OH, sisters Bonita May of Bedford, PA and Diana Chalfont of Winston-Salem, NC as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. George was preceded in death by his parents, Coy and Rebecca Calhoun, grandson Carter Lindeman, sisters Sandra Calhoun, Karen Lesh, Cindy Calhoun, and Beverly Gail Hillegass as well as brothers in law Terry Lesh, William Farris, Bill May and sisters in law Kaye Calhoun and Norma Farris. Pallbearers: Nolan, Nina, Coy, and Colin Lindeman, Todd Lindeman, Jerry Holloway, and David Calhoun. In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to the Ritchey Cemetery Fund in care of the family. Visitation will be held Monday, January 24 from 5pm-7pm at the Swigart-Easterling Funeral Home, 624 Cherry St. E. (Rt. 93) Canal Fulton. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, January 25th at 11am at the funeral home. Burial at Manchester Cemetery. The family requests that if you are attending to please wear a mask.
