Obituary

Canal Fulton---George L. Chapman, 78, passed away February 28, 2011 at the Hospice Care Center in Copley. Born in Akron he had been a Manchester/Canal Fulton area resident most of his life having retired from the Ford Motor Co. after 35 years of service and from the Northwest Local School District after 10 years as a bus driver. George enjoyed life and was a proud Navy veteran having served during the Korean War.



Preceded in death by parents George W. and Orga; mother-in-law Wanda Fox; brother-in-laws William Davis and Ray Wise and several nieces and nephews; Survivors include loving wife of 46 years Genelea; sisters Beulah Maye Davis of Columbia, SC, Betty (Andy) Ransom of Athens, OH, Bonnie (William) Mallett of Akron, OH and Barbara Wise of Sacramento, CA; brothers Harold (Adda) Chapman of Canal Fulton and William Chapman of Chestertown, MD and numerous nieces, nephews and special friends.


Funeral service Friday, March 4, 2011, 11:00 a.m. at Swigart-Easterling Funeral Home, 624 E. Cherry St. (Rte. 93, Canal Fulton) with Rev. Michelle L. Nickodemus officiating. Burial Greenlawn Memorial Park. Calling Hours Thursday 5-8 p.m. and one hour prior to service. Memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
