Howard S. "Sonny" Hale 83, of Canal Fulton passed away peacefully Friday, September 25, 2015 with his loving wife of 52 years by his side. Born in Akron on October 10, 1931. He graduated from East High School, attended Kent State University. Howard served in the U. S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. After his discharge, he worked for Goodyear Aircraft (Goodyear Aerospace) with flight simulators. With a young family and tired of traveling, he became a teacher of electronics at Copley-Fairlawn High School and later at Medina County Career Center. Not only did many fine young men and 4 young women complete this program, but many became lifelong friends with several visiting him just days before his passing. Howard leaves his beloved wife, Charlotte; his children, Kim Norris, of Baltimore, MD; Dee Dee (Jeff) Vielhaber of Dallas, TX; Bruce (Barbara) Hale of Akron, Ohio. He was Papa to 8 grandchildren, Kendra, Lindsey, Kelsey, Courtney, Haley, Jonathan, Marissa & Amanda. He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard & Margaret Hale, sister Gloria "Lolly" Sampson. Howie loved electronics, running & hiking the metro parks. He was a member of AARL & Canal Fulton United Methodist Church. Alzheimer's took his "spark" for life. His family thanks Crossroads Hospice for their gentle, compassionate care this past month. Funeral service will be SATURDAY, Oct. 3, 2015 at 12:00 NOON at the Canal Fulton United Methodist Church, 363 W. Cherry St. (Rte.93) Canal Fulton with Rev. Jon George officiating.
