Irene G. Dommin, née Gaspar, 94 of Canal Fulton, passed away on April 22, 2026. She was born on August 27, 1931, in Cleveland, Ohio, to the late Louis and Gertrude (Castle) Gaspar. Irene worked as an accountant at the Ramada Inn in Phoenix, Arizona and also as secretary for various Catholic churches, most notably SS Philip and James Catholic Church.

A woman of vibrant interests, Irene had a passion for both square dancing and round dancing. Her enthusiasm resonated deeply within the Mary Lou Rounds circle, where she not only participated but also served as the bookkeeper and contributed diligently to their monthly magazine. Irene also had a love of shopping.

Among her proudest accomplishments was her long-time volunteer service for Mecca, a testament to her enduring generosity and commitment to helping others. Irene’s life was an embodiment of kindness and service.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Ann Dommin and brothers, Louis and Dennis Gaspar. Irene’s personality shone as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. Her family was the center of her world, and she treasured every moment spent with them. She is survived by her husband of 74 years, Raymond Dommin; children, Allan Dommin, Michael Dommin, and Karen (Mic) Ruggles; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren; sister, Sandra (Kevin) O’Donnel; numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held THURSDAY, April 30, 2026, 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the Swigart-Easterling Funeral Home, 624 Cherry St E, (Rt. 93) Canal Fulton followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 11:30am at SS Philip & James Catholic Church, 412 High St NE, Canal Fulton, Fr. John Sheridan celebrant. The Rosary will be said 9:30am at the funeral home.
