Jack G. Darnell, 94 died Tuesday, March 26, 2015. He was born April 1, 1920 in Akron, Ohio to the late Roy and Nettie (Musgrave) Darnell. A veteran of World War II , he served in the US Army Air Corps, where he was wounded and was awarded the Purple Heart. Jack also served in the US Navy as a veteran of the Korea War. After the service, He worked for the government in his field of Meteorology and later worked and retired from City of Akron, Water Department. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Yeager Darnell; sisters, Pauline Tighe and Jean Jones.
Jack is survived by his sisters, Dorsalenle Parsons, of Wadsworth, Maxine Harris of Pensacola, Florida and Barbara Plumb of Canal Fulton with whom he lived. Also many nieces and nephews.
Private Military Graveside Services were held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to Summa Foundation /Hospice. 525 East Market St., Akron, OH 44304.
