James E. Betty II, 76 of Canal Fulton, passed away Friday, April 4, 2025. He was born April 26, 1948 to the late James Sr. and Mildred (Vaughn) Betty. Jim had a passion for the game of golf. He was the golf coach for Coventry High School for 14 years, was an instructor with First Tee Akron and also an instructor at the Edwin Shaw Challenge Golf Course which provides golf instruction to individuals with disabilities. He also had owned a garage door company and worked for Starbucks.
Jim enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, golfing, Harley Davidson's and was a member of Narcotics Anonymous for many decades.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Pamela Harris-Betty and brother, David Betty. Jim is survived by his son, Joseph (Megan) Betty and grandchildren Brody, Owen, and Joey Betty; son, James Betty III and grandson, Liam Betty; stepchildren, Patrick (Elizabeth) Mangan, Keelyn (Bill) White, James (Rhiannon) Harris; and grandchildren, Christian, Carter, Callista, and Caden Mangan, Alexis and Bryce White; nieces, Ashley Brooks, Tess Barioto, and Brook Rogers.
Per his wishes cremation has taken place and no services will be held.
