Obituary

James Edward Cobb Sr. "Ed", of Canal Fulton, Ohio, passed away on April 17, 2025. He was the son of Eva Zak and Albert Cobb, both deceased, and preceded in death by his devoted wife, Marilyn Harrigan-Cobb; his stepdaughter, Tammy Crouch-Gatrell; and his sisters, Kathryn Lee and Shawn Lacy. He is survived by his daughter, Debi Cobb-Lazar; his stepson, Tom Crouch; his son, James Edward Cobb Jr.; his granddaughters, Sarah Cobb-Zorsky, Brianna Lazar, and Emma Cobb-Deaton; his sister, Theresa Plale; his brother-in-law and friend, Ron Harrigan; and his nieces, Tracy Beck, Pam Phillips and Amy Russo. Mr. Cobb was a master boat builder for over sixty years, crafting refined, state-of-the-art vessels, including undercover boats for the U.S. Border Patrol, electric car bodies, world-class duck hunting boats, and a rare, impossible-to-purchase classic Corvette replica for actor Tim Allen—for which his company received accolades and acclaim from industry outlets. For a season, he raced professionally, bringing craftsmanship, passion, and precision to the water—the days of the 8mm camera, water parks, and boating adventures. His beloved wife Marilyn recorded those fun summer days teaching their children and grandchildren to water ski. James Edward Cobb Sr. was deeply respected by his peers and his community, a devoted husband, a loving father, who leaves a legacy of quiet strength and dignity. He is missed dearly, yet continues to live in the hearts of all who knew him.

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:

He leadeth me beside the still waters.

He restoreth my soul:

He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,

I will fear no evil: for thou art with me;

Thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: Thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
