James T. Collins, 88, passed away Thursday, January 18, 2024. Born January 1, 1936 in Akron to the late Jim and Nettie Collins; Jim served in the US Army, was a member of Local 219 Plumbers and Pipefitters for over 50 years and a member of the former St. George Catholic Church in Clinton.
Jim loved working in his barn on old antique clocks; whether buying, selling or repairing. Jim was a strong, courageous man with strong principles. He was caring, resilient and an unbelievable role model. Most importantly he was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Faye Kardos and Onvie Frazier. Jim is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Jane Collins; children, Colleen (Roger) Foster, Mike (Kelly) Collins, Tim (Lisa) Collins, Scott (Kim) Collins and Joseph (Debbie) Collins; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and sister, Dorothy Connell.
Funeral Services will be held WEDNESDAY, January 24, 2024, 2:00pm at the Swigart-Easterling Funeral Home, 624 Cherry St. E. (Rt. 93) Canal Fulton, Deacon Robin Adair officiating. Visitation Wednesday, 12pm to 2pm prior to the service. Burial at Clinton Cemetery.
