James H. Cork, 80 of Canal Fulton, passed away at his home Tuesday, February 24, 2015. Born in Hattiesburg, MS to the late Ferrell Sr. and Margaret (Anderson) Cork, Jim attended Mississippi St. University for 5 1/2 years pursuing a degree in Animal Husbandry before being drafted into the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He spent most of his life in the Akron/ Canal Fulton areas where he retired as a supervisor from Manchester Tool after 30 plus years of service. Corky enjoyed hunting on his son's property, fishing, raising German Rottweiler's, and most of all spending time with his family and grandchildren. In his final days he was lovingly cared for at home by wife Patricia and daughter Kerri. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by brother Rev. Ferrell (Billie) Cork Jr and sister Lullu (Norman) Harrold. Jim is survived by his loving wife of 44 1/2 years Patricia (Hupp); children Toni Smith, Kerri Cabell, James C. (Bonnie) Cork; grandchildren Shannon Smith, Amanda Cabell, and Anna, Kaitlyn and James P. Cork. Funeral Services will be held SATURDAY, February 28, 2015, 11:00am, at the Swigart-Easterling Funeral Home, 624 E. Cherry St. (Rt. 93) Canal Fulton, Pastor Larry Baldridge officiating, Burial at Clinton Cemetery. Family and friends may call FRIDAY, 5pm to 7pm at the funeral home.
