James E. Guy, 73 of Jackson Township passed away peacefully, Sunday, Feb. 20, 2011 surrounded by his family. Jim was born January 2, 1938 in Rivesville, West Virginia to the late Marie and Earl Guy. He was a veteran of the US Marine Corps. and had retired from the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company. Jim is survived by his wife Rose of 53 years; sons, Jim (Gina) of Perry Township and Scot (Suzy) of Akron; Five grandchildren, Justin (Janelle), Chelsea (Joe), Jarrod, Evan and Sarah. Two great granddaughters, Nichole and Kaidence; brothers and sisters-in-law, Wes and Marilyn Gibson of Florida and Denny and Joyce Gibson of Atlanta; sisters-in-law Millie (the late Skip) Gibson of Boston, Patty Bahl and Mary Jane Gibson both of Massillon, many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends FRIDAY 4 pm to 6 pm at the Swigart-Easterling Funeral Home, 624 E. Cherry Street, (Rt. 93, Canal Fulton). A Prayer Service will be conducted at 5:30 pm by his nephew, Rev. Chuck Bahl. Interment will be at a later date at Rose Hill Memorial Park, Massillon. Donations may be made to the Community Harvest or Haven of Rest.
